THU 9/10: MD — High-Ranked Medical Services Stock Breaking Out to New All-Time Highs

10:20 AM – Picked up a 1/3 position in this Medical Services stock as it sports very high overall rankings, is part of a leading industry group ranked 5th, and is clearly breaking above its previous highs with an increase in volume. The combination of strong rankings, industry group leadership, a breakout to new all-time highs, and increased volume gives me enough bullish technical evidence to initiate a position.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Look for Leadership Confirmed by Price and Volume

  • Stocks breaking into new all-time highs are demonstrating clear price strength.

  • Strength within a leading industry group adds another positive characteristic.

  • Increased volume helps confirm that there is meaningful demand behind the breakout.

THU 9/3: VOYA – Adding to My Position as the Stock is Breaking Out to New Highs

9:53 AM – Adding another 1/3 to my VOYA position here as shares break out to new highs with what is, at this time, an increase in volume. The combination of new-high price strength and increased volume is bullish technical action and gives me enough confirmation to add to the position.

I now have 2/3 of what I consider a full position in VOYA.

ULTRA Trader’s Tip: Add as Strength Is Confirmed

  • A breakout to new highs shows that buyers are successfully pushing through previous resistance.

  • Increased volume adds conviction and helps confirm the strength of the move.

  • Scaling in by thirds allows the stock to prove itself before committing a full position.

WED 9/2: GLAD — Gains From the 10 DMA With Volume — A BUY SIGNAL

9:58 PM – I added another 1/3 position to my GLAD holding today as shares traded higher from the 10 DMA with an increase in volume. This is a very typical technical scenario I look for when adding to an existing position: support at the 10 DMA followed by an advance on increased volume.

I now have 2/3 of what I consider a full position in GLAD, in a market where stocks have generally lacked much follow-through.

The cost basis will be adjusted inside ULTRA for tracking purposes.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Add From Proven Support

  • An advance from the 10 DMA with increased volume is one of the most common bullish technical signals I look for.

  • Scaling in allows the stock to prove itself before committing a full position.

  • When stocks are showing limited follow-through overall, maintaining some restraint with position size helps manage risk.

MON 8/31: GLAD – Just Starting to Break Out of a Downtrend as Volume Shows Some Conviction

3:38 PM – Starting a 1/3 position in this Finance-Investment Management company as shares begin to break out of their recent downtrend while volume runs 39% above average. The improving price action combined with increased volume gives me enough bullish technical evidence to initiate a starter position.

James’ Trader’s Tip: A Trend Change Needs Confirmation

  • Breaking out of a downtrend can signal an important change in the stock’s technical character.

  • Above-average volume strengthens the move by showing increased demand behind the breakout.

  • Starting with a 1/3 position lets us participate while requiring the stock to prove itself before committing additional capital.

FRI 8/28: VOYA – BUYING (1/3) @ $102.59

3:40 PM – Picking up a 1/3 position in this Insurance leader as shares push toward new all-time highs while volume runs above average. The combination of strong price action near record highs and increased volume gives me enough bullish technical evidence to initiate a position.

James’ Trader’s Tip: New Highs Show Leadership

  • Stocks trading near all-time highs are demonstrating strong relative price action.

  • Increased volume adds confirmation that buyers are supporting the advance.

  • Starting with a 1/3 position allows us to participate while giving the stock room to further confirm its strength.

FRI 8/28: DSGX – BUYING (1/3) @ $81.38

3:40 PM – Starting a 1/3 position in this Computer Software-Specialty Enterprise company as shares shoot higher from near the 10 DMA and look to be closing at a new recent high above $81.00 with a solid increase in volume. The combination of support at the 10 DMA, a move to new recent highs, and increased volume gives me a technical BUY SIGNAL.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Strength Should Be Confirmed by Volume

  • An advance from near the 10 DMA shows that important short-term support is holding.

  • Moving into new recent highs demonstrates improving price strength.

  • Increased volume adds conviction by showing stronger demand behind the move.

THU 8/27: DBX – BUYING/ADDING TO (1/3) @ $35.67

12:29 PM – Adding another 1/3 to my DBX position this afternoon as shares continue to show bullish technical action. The stock is pushing higher, although there is some near-term resistance at the ROUND-$36 level. A decisive move above $36 would provide additional bullish confirmation. This addition brings my total position to 2/3.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Add as the Stock Proves Itself

  • Scaling into a position allows the stock to demonstrate additional strength before committing more capital.

  • Nearby resistance gives us a clear technical level to monitor.

  • A strong break above the ROUND-$36 level would confirm that buyers are successfully overcoming that final small area of resistance.

10:04 AM – Picking up a 1/3 position in this Computer Software-Database stock as shares trade higher from the 10 DMA while volume is currently running 38% above average. That combination of support at the 10 DMA, advancing price, and increased volume gives me a technical BUY SIGNAL.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Volume Helps Confirm Support

  • An advance from the 10 DMA shows that buyers are defending an important short-term support level.

  • Above-average volume adds conviction to the move by showing stronger-than-normal demand.

  • When price and volume improve together, the technical setup becomes more compelling.

The combination of support at the 10 DMA, a move through previous resistance, and expanding volume represents the type of bullish technical action I look for in a BUY SIGNAL.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Look for Confirmation From Multiple Signals

  • Advancing from the 10 DMA shows that short-term support is holding.

  • Breaking above previous highs confirms that resistance is being cleared.

  • Above-average volume adds conviction to the move and strengthens the bullish technical evidence.

FRI 8/21: SIBN – BUYING (1/3) @ $19.85

3:43 PM – Starting a 1/3 position in this Medical-Systems company as shares blast higher from the 10 DMA to new recent highs while volume runs 127% above the normal daily rate. That combination of price strength and sharply expanding volume gives us a strong technical BUY SIGNAL. A close above the ROUND-$20 level would add even more bullish technical significance to the move.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Strong Volume Adds Conviction

  • Advancing from the 10 DMA shows that key short-term support is holding.

  • New recent highs confirm improving price strength.

  • When volume expands by more than 100%, the move deserves attention because it signals unusually strong demand.

THU 8/20: AYA – BUYING/ADDING (1/3) @ $27.58

9:40 AM – Adding another 1/3 to my position in this gold-related stock this morning as shares advance from near the 10 DMA. The stock is continuing to show bullish support at this key technical level, giving me enough confirmation to increase my position to 2/3.

James’ Trader’s Tip: Add When the Stock Confirms Your Trade

  • Starting with 1/3 keeps initial risk controlled.

  • When the stock continues to respect the 10 DMA and advances, it provides additional technical confirmation.

  • Scaling into strength allows the stock to earn additional capital rather than committing a full position all at once.

The combination of support at the 10 DMA, a move through round-number resistance, and strong volume gives me enough bullish confirmation to increase the position.

James Trader’s Tip: Add When Strength Confirms the Setup

  • An advance from the 10 DMA shows that technical support is holding.

  • Breaking above a key round-number level adds another layer of bullish confirmation.

  • Above-average volume strengthens the move and helps justify adding to an existing position.
