10:48 AM – Shares are being turned back from the 10 DMA and are now breaking below the 50 DMA. That combination signals clear technical deterioration, especially as the broader market environment continues to weaken. Calling a 3RD and FINAL SELL SIGNAL here.
ULTRA Trader’s Tip: Multiple Violations = Exit
• A turnback from the 10 DMA signals failed momentum.
• A break below the 50 DMA confirms a shift in the intermediate trend.
• When both occur together, it’s a high-probability signal to exit and protect capital.

3:31 PM – Taking profits here on this NVT swing trade after previously booking some losses. This afternoon, shares are pulling back from their day highs while becoming extended from the 10 DMA by +7.7%. With the market remaining bearish and highly news-driven, this is a prudent time to lock in gains.
This trade is part of my Personal Portfolio, and this is a personal decision. I am still covering this stock on the site within the Traditional BreakOuts Portfolio.
ULTRA Trader’s Tip: Take Profits Into Extension
• Stocks extended too far above the 10 DMA often pull back to reset.
• Selling into strength helps lock in gains before momentum fades.
• In volatile markets, taking profits proactively improves consistency.

9:41 AM – Buying back into NVT this morning as shares are advancing from the 50 DMA with strong volume conviction. That type of action is a bullish sign and often signals renewed institutional demand. I’m now holding essentially a 2/3 position in the stock.
ULTRA Trader’s Tip: Buying From the 50 DMA
• Bounces from the 50 DMA often signal institutional support.
• Volume expansion during the move higher confirms real demand.
• Adding on bullish signs is following the discipline.

3:29 PM – After closing just below its 50 DMA yesterday, shares are clearly trading below that level again today. When a stock loses the 50 DMA, it signals weakening intermediate momentum. Selling 1/3 of the current position here to reduce exposure.
ULTRA Trader’s Tip: Scaling In and Out in Thirds
• Positions are built and reduced in thirds, allowing the stock to prove itself before committing full capital.
• This method reduces timing risk — you don’t have to be perfect on the first trade.
• Scaling out in thirds locks in gains or trims losses progressively while still allowing participation if things reverse.

3:44 PM – Quickly adding more here as the stock is closing near session highs above the ROUND-$120 level, with volume running +51% above normal. That confirms continued institutional demand. I also have available buying power that needs to be deployed into strength — not sitting idle.
PREVIOUS BUYS:
1/22 (1/3) @ 112.15
PREVIOUS SELLS:
2/10 (ALL) -569.65 -2.8%
NEW BUYS:
2/25 (1/3) @ $121.90
2/25 (1/3) @ $121.87
NEW COST BASIS: $121.89
James’ Trader’s Tip: Add to Strength, Not Hope
• Adding near session highs confirms conviction.
• Volume expansion validates the move.
• Capital should be deployed in stocks making new highs.
• Idle buying power is opportunity cost.

9:51 AM – Getting back into NVT this morning as shares are breaking out to new highs above the ROUND-$120 level on above-average volume. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve used that phrase over the past 25 years, I could quit my day job.
Nearly all of the stock’s ranks are about as strong as they can be, with the exception of the Accumulation/Distribution rating, which is somewhat lower. That can improve quickly if more above-average volume up-days like today continue. The company’s fundamental history remains solid, and the stock is acting as a leader within its group.
I’m a buyer here this morning.
MY BUYS:
1/22 (1/3) @ $112.15
2/25 (1/3) @ $121.91
MY SELLS:
2/10 (ALL) -$569.65 -2.8%
James’ Trader’s Tip: Breakouts Above Round Numbers Matter
• Breakouts above clean psychological levels often attract momentum buyers.
• Volume confirms whether institutions are participating.
• High ranks plus leadership groups increase probability.
• Always re-enter strength — not weakness.

3:29 PM – After failing to close back above its 10 DMA yesterday, shares are now breaking more decisively below that key level today on above-average volume, exhibiting clear bearish technical action. After sweating through the recent earnings sell-off, I’m selling the entire position and reallocating capital for stronger technical setups, such as SNN (see here).
MY BUYS:
1/22 (1/3) @ $112.15
MY SELLS:
2/10 (ALL) -$569.65 -2.8%
James’ Trader’s Tip: Respect Failed Reclaims of the 10 DMA
• A failed attempt to reclaim the 10 DMA often signals continued weakness.
• Increased volume on the downside confirms institutional selling pressure.
• Freeing capital from underperformers allows redeployment into stronger setups.
• Discipline protects the account — hope does not.

3:56 PM – Adding another 1/3 position as shares are advancing from their 10 DMA with a +23% increase in volume, confirming continued accumulation. There is little overhead resistance or supply, and the 10 DMA is ideally positioned to support further upside. The stock maintains near-top overall ranks, reinforcing the add.
BUY SIGNALS:
1/30 (1/3) @ $116.31
2/2 (1/3) @ $115.66
NEW COST BASIS: $115.99
ULTRA Trader’s Tip: Add When the Market Confirms You
Advances from the 10 DMA signal short-term control.
Rising volume confirms real demand, not drift.
Adding where resistance is minimal keeps risk aligned with momentum.

9:44 AM – Starting a 1/3 position as shares are trading higher from the 10 DMA with an increase in volume, signaling renewed short-term momentum. The stock carries very high ranks and sits within a leading industry group, supporting the entry.
MY BUYS:
1/30 (1/3) @ $116.31
James’ Trader’s Tip: Start Small, Let Strength Confirm
Moves up from the 10 DMA often mark the start of actionable momentum.
Volume confirms the move is being supported, not drifted.
Beginning with partial size allows flexibility while price proves itself.
